On my way to HK

One more day in Phnom Penh- I should have lunch with a former colleague from ARC who now works here. Wadt and Chhunny will take me to the airport this afternoon. Sad to leave Cambodia but many projects in progress!
Tomorrow: HK style day!

Saturday in Phnom Penh

No training today- conf call at 6am, breakfast with baguette and butter, work in hotel, lunch with a Cambodian friend in a Vietnamese restaurant ("pho'" noodle soup), meeting with Chhunny, my cofacilitator, then 90 minutes presentation on financial literacy and a+b=3's work in Cambodia, followed by questions. We ended the day by another meeting with Chhunny and Wadt (her husband is back home now).

Last day of training

The level 1 training the trainers is finished. Now starts the follow up with the 6 organisations who attended to make sure they are going to implement financial education programmes to reach their low income clients.

The training ended up with a dinner (Minnesota time: 5:30pm) but lunch was light (red ants for menu... crunchy).

Tomorrow conf call at 6am, lunch with a friend, meeting then presentation!

A brighter day

Yesterday was a tough day. Wadt's husband (one of the 2 co-facilitators) got hurt while driving back from the training center. He will have surgery on his hand tomorrow.

Today's comments- positive in spite of the room temperature
The last day of the Training the Trainers - level 2 went well. Then I changed hotel to get nearer to the next training center... and finally found a shabby room without window on the back of an internet cafe after circling for an hour in PP... and the second co-facilitator told me the training room for today was not good and he had a problem with the Khmer translation of the handout.
Today was better. I am back to the first hotel, with a window and internet. The training went well- the room is not great but will do. It is hot but they provide snacks during the breaks and lunch in a restaurant nearby.
