Leaving Phnom Penh
I am always sad to leave Phnom Penh and Cambodia. Between the morning workshop, a lunch with friends and a couple of meetings, I grasped all the moments I could.
Quayside |
Esperanto is still in fashion! |
the old market |
the massive official buildings have blossomed |
impressive gate |
the unofficial road crossing the dried lake near Tuol Kork |
traffic jam at peak time |
the first line of bus (here is a bus stop) should address part of the problem... |
temple near Independence Monument |
Independence Monument |
on the road to the airport |
safety first |
this is more usual unfortunately |
end of school |
irony: two kids on a bike riding in front of luxury car seller... this illustrates the recent economic development of Cambodia |
private school ads- private schools are thriving. I could not catch the add promoting exporting Cambodia manpower abroad |
chicken public transport |
fashion, food, fun - luxury flats and shopping malls constructions. Even the airport of Phnom Penh that has undergone its third major renovation since 2009 now looks like any other airport. |

from Sisophon to Phnom Penh
RN 5 again this time back to Phnom Penh
Sisophon with a nice morning light |
Watching the traffic while waiting for the bus |
impressive mini-van interior decoration |
the beautiful landscape between Sisophon and Battambang |
Battambang |
old houses in Battambang |
Battambang's market |
most signposts are sponsored by Manulife insurance - in Phnom Penh, Prudential got the market. |
rice paddies near Battambang |
Rice has just been harvested and is drying |
before being put in bags and shipped |
I missed the water buffaloes... too hard to take from the bus |
mountains in the background |
a factory in Phnom Penh suburb |
